“Las Terrazas – One of the Most Positive Hotel Experiences I Have Had”
I stayed in Superior Bungalow Superior #3 with my wife and son for 2 nights from 26-28 November 2015.
1 – Upon arrival, the owner, David Brito welcomed us with open arms to the lodge. David is a genuinely nice fellow – you can tell that he really does care about the comfort and needs of his guests. He gave us his phone number and email and said to call/email him anytime with anything that we needed. He also offered to bring us into Mindo town if necessary in his vehicle. He also came directly to our room and took our lunch and dinner orders. Didn’t even have to wait at the restaurant – he called us in the room to let us know the food was ready!
2 – The food was FANTASTIC!!! The chef, Veronica is fantastic! She was also very nice to us and, like David, wanted to ensure that we enjoyed our food and everything was just right. Best appetizer – Fried Yuca with guacamole (wow!) My favorite dishes – shrimp fettuccine and grilled chicken with mushroom sauce! And for dessert – she made a cheesecake that was one of the best cheesecakes I have had – better than New York cheesecake.
3. Meals brought to your room! In the morning, I watched as David and Veronica climbed up the steep flight of stairs to our room with large trays – scrambled eggs, pancakes, toast, juice, coffee, tea and fruit plates!
4. The room. Very new room – everything is extremely clean. There is a hot tub in the room. The shower is very nice – a LARGE shower head that is perfect. Water pressure is great. Hot water constantly. Beds were really comfortable. They brought in an extra bed for my son that worked well. (Normally when hotels bring in extra beds, they are in crappy condition and small.) So, it was nice to see that he had a large enough bed and it was fairly new. There is a 32 inch TV on the wall with direct TV. There is also a large porch outside that looks into the mountains of Mindo. Hummingbirds and butterflies are right outside your door.
5. Things to do. David made some really great suggestions on activities to do while we were there (we had never been to Mindo, so we needed some suggestions.) . We did several activities that he recommended – and we had a great time.
6. Overall, one of the most positive hotel experiences I have had. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone and plan to return soon. Thanks again David and Veronica for a great experience!
